Hello, Hello & Happy New Year!
Hope this finds you all well and happy and enthusiastic about the year ahead.
We've had a great family summer. I'm aware that these years are very precious with our children, so I've been fortunate enough to devote this summer holiday to family.
I've barely picked up a brush! I find that I need some real time and space to find my creativity and paint well, so work for me is an 'All or Nothing' affair, and summery school holidays make it a 'Nothing' time! I am now officially chomping at the bit to get into the studio and start some work on some exciting new projects and paintings.
The time away from the studio does mean that I hit the canvases with extra energy when school goes back in a weeks time.

These are all little (25 x 25cm) colour studies that serve me as a guide for colour and composition for my larger paintings. I currently have three big landscapes on the go that speak to this.
