OPEN STUDIO NOVEMBER 9-17th ‘23 November 05 2023, 0 Comments

Hello lovely people!

I’m moving out of my beautiful studio gallery space at 27 Vanguard Street and so decided it was a good time to hang some paintings on the walls and open up the space for a week or two.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work in this large and light-filled space. New tenants are taking over the entire building and so it is time for me to move my practice elsewhere. New studio location TBC…!

Meantime, I will be packing up my things and finishing off a number of paintings which will be available to view and purchase from the studio over the next couple of weeks. It would be wonderful to see you at the studio!
Please feel free to drop in anytime between 10am-3pm Monday to Friday or by appointment.

Best wishes,

Georgie

AVAILABLE ARTWORK November 03 2022, 0 Comments

Hello hello!.

At the Spring Exhibition; Red Gallery, Nelson

Thanks so much for all of your enquiries regarding new and available artwork

I will have new paintings at Turua Gallery in Auckland over the coming months. I will also be showing paintings at my local Nelson gallery Red Gallery, and at Little River Gallery in Canterbury; as well as uploading a few originals online here on my website.

My new limited edition print, ‘Lamplight’:

I’m working on a series of small landscapes on linen and canvas as well as some large new works - abstracted landscapes in cooler colours. I’m loving this productive time of year and some longer, lighter days.
Thank you for your patience!

Enjoy your season,

Best wishes,

Georgie

SOLO EXHIBITION - LITTLE RIVER GALLERY September 22 2022, 0 Comments

I’m very happy to let you know that I will be opening my solo exhibition for 2022 at Little River Gallery in Christchurch on October 1st.

This exhibition is the culmination of months of work and I’m thrilled with how this collection of paintings has come together. There are large and small works on linen in a colour palette of muted turquoise skies, golden ochre fields and deep blue shadows. Pops of burnt orange and dirty pink add warmth. The show comprises a dozen original still life and landscape works and will also mark the release of a new limited edition print.

I will be at Little River for the opening on Saturday 1st October at 11am and hope to see some of you there!
Please contact the gallery for enquiries regarding pre-sales and the online catalogue

Big thanks.

Turua Gallery, Auckland NZ. New gallery representation in Auckland.

New paintings coming soon! July 27 2021, 0 Comments

Thank you for your patience while I am busy in the studio, painting

new works to make available for sale!

It is taking me some time to replenish the website with new original artworks.

Rest assured they are coming soon!

I have a group of paintings on linen that have been gradually evolving;

layers of oils built up to shape and reveal new forms and themes.

I’m enjoying working these through to completion, one brushstroke at a time.

Abstract landscapes that weave stories of primitive dwellings and old trees,

warm winter light and well-trodden pathways

Please let me know if you have any enquiries

or watch the website for the latest available paintings.

Thanks for checking in,

Georgie.

TWO NEW ART PRINTS RELEASED June 15 2021, 0 Comments

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that I’ve just uploaded two new art prints to the website.

These two paintings featured in my recent exhibition, ‘Local Poetry’. A floral and an abstract and landscape - both with a warm, earthy colour palette and printed on beautiful cotton rag paper stock. Limited to an addition of 45 prints only.

You can purchase these online here or at Te Papa store in Wellington, Blackbird Goods in Napier and Hastings and at Red Gallery in Nelson.

In the meantime, I’m working away on some new original paintings in the studio and hope to complete a small collection of new works by the end of the month.

Best wishes and enjoy the week,

Georgie

Thank You - ‘Local Poetry’ exhibition May 16 2021, 0 Comments

An amazing opening night!
Thank you for the fantastic response to my latest exhibition, ‘Local Poetry’. It was wonderful to see so many of you at Red Gallery on Friday evening. It was also exciting to have out-of-town folk buying paintings online at the same time! Thank you all for being there to support my art practice.

The exhibition sold out in 24 hours, which was thrilling! It will hang for two weeks in the gallery. There will be new limited edition prints made from some of the original paintings, so keep an eye out for these online soon.

I’m excited to be starting a new body of work and also taking on some commissions, after a pause for reflection and some research time.

Warm wishes,

Georgie.

LIMITED EDITION PRINTS - update March 22 2021, 0 Comments

Hello hello!

The art prints have been a great addition to my art business. It’s such a fantastic way for people to have a little piece of artwork for themselves or to gift, without breaking the bank.

I’ve kept each edition to just 45 prints, so as to keep them a little rarefied, a little more special.

‘Mendoza Roses’ has been a popular one from the start and has now sold out.
I’m adding a new floral to the mix to replace this; ‘Soft Roses’ coming soon...

LIMITED EDITION GICLEE PRINTS ARE HERE! December 23 2020, 0 Comments

They’ve been a long time coming... but I’m thrilled to have launched these new art prints.

Each work is limited to an edition  of 45 prints. Each print is signed and numbered individually by the artist.

Printed on beautiful textured heavy cotton rag paper, these prints have a wonderful quality to them - vivid, highly pigmented colors and beautiful details. These make excellent gifts and frame up beautifully for anywhere in the home or office. View full details on the website.

Have a wonderful festive season!
Georgie.

DECEMBER ALREADY! December 15 2020, 0 Comments

THANKS TO YOU

For a following along with me on this wild and crazy ride that has been 2020!
The first half of this year was spent in Argentina. An adventure cut short by the pandemic, but nonetheless an adventure, even if only to taste and experience some South American atmosphere, climate, language and meet some truly wonderful people.

Back home to NZ to re-set and back into my little studio space for some painting time.
sales have been swift and I’m happily painting up new original pieces all the time to satisfy demand. What a fortunate position to be in. I know. And I take nothing for granted. I’m rolling with it and am so grateful that my art practice is flourishing.

Beat wishes for the Christmas season and New Year celebrations!

Be safe and enjoy every day.
Warmest wishes,

Georgina. x
