Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to let you know that I’ve just uploaded two new art prints to the website.
These two paintings featured in my recent exhibition, ‘Local Poetry’. A floral and an abstract and landscape - both with a warm, earthy colour palette and printed on beautiful cotton rag paper stock. Limited to an addition of 45 prints only.
You can purchase these online here or at Te Papa store in Wellington, Blackbird Goods in Napier and Hastings and at Red Gallery in Nelson.
In the meantime, I’m working away on some new original paintings in the studio and hope to complete a small collection of new works by the end of the month.
Best wishes and enjoy the week,
Georgie
Hello from Argentina,
The days are cold but bright; and the shadows are long.
The pandemic is gathering pace in South America and the local businesses are suffering. Movements are restricted, airports still closed, face masks still mandatory and the locals are staying in. The people here are used to crises and uncertainty and keep marching on. I admire them hugely.
As for us - we are enjoying our last weeks here in beautiful Mendoza before heading home to NZ. It’s been a difficult decision to leave here but with so many unknowns and restrictions, we feel it’s the right thing to do.
We are fortunate to have options and NZ is a great one right now.
A few images from the leafy autumn here...
Best wishes from me to you,
Georgie
Hola! Welcome back
An update from me to let you know that we are still meandering in Mendoza, post-lockdown. We can now head out to shops, restaurants and parks - with restrictions and social distancing.
it has been fantastic to get out and about in our local neighborhood.
The autumn here is beautiful. Mendoza is a city of tree-lined streets and many plazas and parks that are crowned with richly-hued deciduous trees; laden with leaves. That, paired with the dry and dusty earth and the biscuit-coloured buildings, and I have a perfect palette from which to work
On the home front, we are still homeschooling our three children. It has its daily challenges! And impacts hugely on my ability to be creative and get into the studio to paint. That said, I’m inspired daily by my surroundings and am slowly getting together a new body of work.
Keep in touch via my Instagram account for all the images of daily life here in Mendoza and my latest paintings from the studio.
Best wishes. Saludos!
Georgie
An invitation to my next exhibition, ‘Queens Greens’; which opens 24 September in the McKee Gallery at the Suter Gallery, Nelson.
L A T E S T N E W S : I’m excited to be launching a new collaboration with luxury brand Wilson & Dorset in Wanaka, opening 11 July.
The countdown is over and opening night is upon us! I’m excited to show this new collection of paintings, ‘Gold’.
It is a good representation of where I am at currently in my art practice - painterly, old-school portraits and loosely rendered landscapes; still dancing in the space between figurative and abstraction. I love the challenge of it.
This exhibition shows at Red Gallery until June 19. If you’re not in Nelson, please feel free to contact the Gallery directly for any enquiries or to view the artworks online.

Thank you so much for checking in!
Best wishes for a golden Season wherever you are.

Georgina Hoby Scutt ~ ‘Gold’
Exhibition of original paintings opens at RED Art Gallery in Nelson on Friday 24 May, 5.30pm.
Thanks to Homestyle magazine for the stunning feature on me and my art practice.
Hello! Summer school holidays have been in busy, noisy, happy full swing.
I've barely picked up a brush! I am now officially chomping at the bit to get into the studio and start some work on some exciting new projects and paintings.
These are all little (25 x 25cm) colour studies that serve me as a guide for colour and composition for my larger paintings. I currently have three big landscapes on the go that speak to this.
These paintings are great, affordable original artworks.
